I’m a few sessions behind and have some fun personal images I want to share, but for now I HAVE to post some images from a recent session. I saw this small but dense field of sunflowers (or the weed version of them, really) and I knew immediately who I wanted to photograph there. My new Georgetown friends Hannah and Kendall. My first session with the girls was a family portrait back in the fall on what had to be one of the coldest most windy days in history. It was hard to really get to know their personality with it being so cold. Well, I know them now! Hannah is full of spunk and independent ideas. She reminds me a lot of me at her age and Mom’s going to have her hands full when she’s a teenager!! :) Kendall takes a little while to warm up, but once she’s warm, get ready for the show, she’s a hoot! They are both just gorgeous, fun-loving girls and we had a great time, despite the itchy weeds. Thanks for helping me make my vision come true!

Meet Collin, the newest addition to our friends Justin & Misty. You can see Misty’s maternity portraits a few posts back. Collin was so tiny to me for some reason, but a real sweetheart. He was a great little sleeper and did so well. We set up a make-shift studio in their home in Tyler and just had a blast. Amazing how resourceful you can be when you need to, but I love it, it’s part of the creativity of the session.

I have a funny story about my trip home from Tyler, but I’ll save that post for a slow week!

Enjoy a few of my favorites!

Meet John, Ruth & Jay McEntire. Kenny and I have known John and Ruth since our days at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches. Axe ‘em Jacks!! We went on to dental school together in San Antonio and they are settling down just as we are in the North Austin area. John opened his practice, Hutto Premier Dentistry, in case you’re looking for a wonderful general dentist.

So we did a little bit of everything, some updated family portraits, headshots for John and some portraits of ADORABLE little Jay. He is one of those little boys that just melts your heart. It took him a while to warm up and of course this location fights with me for kid’s attention with the fish in the pond, etc. We saw one of the smallest baby frogs I’ve ever seen, he loved it! We came back to the house to get some water and I couldn’t resist getting Jay in the studio, so we threw in a few studio shots as well. I LOVE that sad face. What’s funny is the image before and after that are big smiles. I wonder what he was thinking about on this one, but you gotta love those eyes!
