Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I’ve been on the road on and off since April 21st so I’m a little behind on updating the blog. A lot has happened in the past few weeks, so I thought I’d take a minute to share.
As most of you know I used to live in Lexington, Ky and had the priviledge of photographing patients of Dr. Shawn Taylor & Dr. Moria Bush at A Caring Touch Pediatrics & International Adoptions. Shawn & Moria are amazing physicians and it was such a joy to work with them. Shawn was kind enough to let me display my portraits in her beautiful new office so I got a gallery and she got decor! Below is a picture from a few years ago of the display. We update it with client portraits every Spring and this year I passed along the project to my great friend Danielle Pousette of Simple Grace Photography. The event was a huge success and the images are just adorable! Thank you to everyone who participated!

The day after I got home from Ky, we had Home Depot coming to install beautiful Manchurian Walnut hardwood floors in the house. I’m very pleased with the result and have quickly learned I’m going to need to sweep more often! Here are some images of the final product including the beautiful new studio which of course I don’t have a full image of the studio, but you can see my giant softbox as well as our front entrance.
Less than a week of being home and I was back on the road to Arlington, Tx for a photography conference. I quickly found out exactly how exhausted I was and after a few days had to leave early. I joined Kenny (my hubby) and his partner and staff at a Dental conference in San Antonio, except this time I just slept, worked out and relaxed! A much needed break!
So we’re back in town and I’m headed on the road one more time for my BIG RACE! Since February, I’ve been training for a 24.85 mile bike race as part of a Triathlon Relay Group. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Triathlons, they have different lengths, ours is an Olympic distance I believe, but it consists of a swim, bike and run. Most folks do all three, including all THREE of my big brothers! I got to watch two of them compete last year and it was a lot of fun just watching. Well, now I’m doing, not watching! One of my SIL’s is going to do the swim, I’m biking and another SIL was supposed to the run, but got injured so we have a last minute replacement. The race is this coming Sunday in Memphis (Memphis in May Triathlon) so please send me good thoughts and prayers for that day as well as safe travel for everyone to and from Memphis.
Looking forward to completing my first race and moving on to the next one!
I’m behind on a few session updates as well so I’ll post those later! Hope everyone has had a wonderful few weeks including Mother’s Day and I look forward to seeing you for a session soon!
