More Anna…

April 17, 2009

Wow…I just can’t enough about how much fun this session was and I even had fun post-processing them. None of these are officially “retouched” in Photoshop. All the fun color affects are done in Lightroom and that’s it!

I’m waiting on permission to post a link to the entire session for those of you who are interested, but her friend is in some of them and I’ll need a model release from her before I can do that.

Until then, please enjoy another sneak peak at this ROCKIN’ session!

That’s what one passerby asked about my most recent session with Anna. This THIRTEEN year-old is stunningly gorgeous and has a natural talent for being in front of the camera.

I promised the family a sneak peak before I headed out of town. More coming soon, that’s for sure, I took an insane number of images at some really neat spots downtown Austin so this will be a feature session with a full slideshow soon!

Thanks Pam, Anna and MeganĀ  – I had a blast! ROCK ON!

I had the privilege of photographing Julia’s parents Kyle & Melanie for maternity portraits last year and then a few days later, little Miss was born so I’m glad we got them done in time. We did portraits at 3 weeks and Julia was back again at 6 months, this time a BLONDE!! That’s right, you wouldn’t even know it’s the same baby girl. Below is a page layout from an album I made of their first session.

Here is Miss Julia Lynn today! I wonder if she heard blonde’s have more fun! Julia is one of the most laid back babies I’ve ever been around. She is so sweet and just a joy to be around, let alone photograph! Thanks Kyle & Melanie for creating such a beautiful little model for me!

Melanie is a VERY talented interior designer and muralist. Her understanding of perspective and light is really breathtaking. Check out her design site: www.melaniewhitedesign.com

Okay… a little bit of a back-log of sessions due to being out of town for a week. But I’m back and I’m proud to post a recent Celebration Adoption session with Miss Karlie Joan Zhen. Karlie’s parents, Julie & Drake are family friends and we’ve been anxiously awaiting the day when they were finally united with Karlie on April 24, 2008 from the Chenzhou SWI Orphanage in Hunan Province, China.

As some of you may or may not know, I have two nieces adopted from China and I was honored to travel with my brother and SIL to China to photograph and experience their oldest Maggie’s Gotcha Day! It was a magical and emotional journey and one that has really changed my life. I am a now a participating member of Celebrating Adoption. A national group of photographers dedicated to helping parents capture the special joy of adoption. If you or someone you love has adopted from any country including domestic in the past year they are eligible for the free program!

Back to Miss Karlie. She was so entertaining. She is very independent and loves to make funny faces and noises! We had a great time in the studio and Karlie kept us laughing the entire time! We had hoped to so some portraits outside as well, but as usual lately the wind and weather just didn’t cooperate.

Thank you Julie & Drake for making the trip to Georgetown. Congratulations on your beautiful family!

But in it.” ~ Author Unkown
