What’s my big news. After taking 9 months off to get adjusted to Mommyhood! I’m ready to take on a few new clients! Time and weekends will still be very limited to make sure I continue to spend plenty of time with my new little family, but looking forward to creating beautiful keepsakes for my amazing clients once again!

It’s a rite of passage for all Texans and we were lucky to have a pretty good year for Evan’s first Bluebonnet Portraits! He was in good spirits as well after being sick for a couple weeks so the timing worked out great!

Thank you for making 2011 a wonderful year for my studio and for me personally!!

I enjoy my job so much and it has been such an honor getting to know all of my wonderful client families over the years. You and your children are so special to me and I hope you feel that during your session and throughout the year.

As I mentioned, 2011 was a great year. To brag a little bit, Sarah Havard Photography was awarded Silver in the Best of Georgetown Awards for Best Photographer/Studio. I’m still shocked and honored at the recognition.  As an artist and just my personality, I am very hard on myself. It’s something I’ve been working on ever since I spent some time with David King Fitness (whole other story, but check out his website and blog at http://www.davidkingfitness.com/

It’s hard for me to take compliments and trust that I AM good and that well, to steal the line, “You like me, you really like me!” So the 2011 Best of Georgetown award was heard loud and clear and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it.

In other news from this past year, after 9 years of marriage (10 years January 12!) Kenny and I embarked on an amazing journey: PARENTHOOD!

Evan Hayes Havard was born August 5th, 2011. He is happy and healthy and we praise God for our little blessing!  It’s the hardest, most rewarding thing we’ve ever done. Like everyone says, he’s growing up so fast if only there was a way to stop time. Gee, I wonder how I can do that? A photograph seems to be the only way I’ve found so far!

2012: Cutting Back…

With much thought, prayer and support from Kenny, I’ve decided to concentrate on being a mommy this next year. This past holiday season was a tough reminder that life has changed for us and that I must change as well. I’m not closing completely, just limiting sessions to current and past clients. The only exception might be mini session such as Bluebonnet Portraits or Holiday portraits which I’m considering adding next year.

Speaking of, my holiday deadline for sessions AND orders will be back to Thanksgiving so be sure and schedule Fall portraits well before then.

As much as I LOVE your referrals, this year I’ll be directly new clients to some of my fellow photographers in the area. If you would like that list as well, please email me.

WOW, YIPEE, HOORAY!

To say I am shocked and excited about this is an understatment! There are some many great photographers in Georgetown. I am truly in amazing company! I still feel like I’m building up my business in Georgetown since moving here in 2008 so to be awarded with Silver just feels like one big ole HUG from all my clients and friends!! Thank you all SO much for voting and supporting my business!

I’m giddy with excitement over this image of SUPEREVAN!!! I’m a HUGE fan of Adele Enersen of Mila’s Daydreams so when we decided Evan was going to be Superman for Halloween I knew exactly what his Halloween portrait would be! It’s just how I envisioned (although for the shutterbugs, it’s lit from the wrong direction, but I don’t care), I LOVE IT! I also thought Evan would have to be asleep but he was ready to pose!
